I Love Lamp

This one was too good to leave off of the blog... Flying home from Thanksgiving in Dallas, we each had two carry-ons and a suitcase to check. Two of our four carry-ons were boxes - some lamps that my mom got for us months ago. When we checked our luggage, the lady at the ticket counter measured the boxes and said that they were small enough to carry-on, so we did. Well, we got on the plane and the boxes wouldn't fit in the overhead bins or under the seats - how embarassing. One of the flight attendants took the boxes and strapped them into two empty seats at the very back of the plane. When we landed she handed us a wad of paper towels and said, "I don't know what to tell you. The guy sitting next to your boxes pucked all over them." Sure enough, we got to the back of the plane and had to clean off some guy's throw-up. I laughed and Quin gagged through the whole thing. The flight attendant told us that they were mad that the vomit guy never even told them that he got sick. Of course, they didn't noticed like they normally would have because the lady across the isle from him had a dog that pooed in his little kennel thing. According to the people in the back of the plane, vomit guy didn't ralph because of the overwhelming poopoo smell, he just had too much to drink. Then we had to book it across the Houston airport to our connecting flight. We went straight to the check-in counter and asked the lady what we could do because our boxes didn't fit in the carry-on compartments of the last plane and this plane didn't have any open seats. They were either unwilling or unable to help and wouldn't put our boxes under the plane, so we had to think of something fast. Quin broke open the throw-up boxes and I ran to the women's restroom, pulled the trash can liner back to reveal a stash of unused trash bags (I know, quick thinking). Then, we put the lamps in the trash bags and stuffed them in the overhead bins on our flight. Well, our flight got in late and then took half an hour to taxi up to the gate. Quin took a long restroom break (I think the clean-up job made his stomach turn) and then we caught the bus to the overflow parking lot where our car was parked. As soon as the bus driver pulled into the lot, the bus broke down! Here we are, dressed for Dallas weather in the Colorado freeze with 2 heavy suitcases, 2 heavy carry-on bags and 2 lamps in trash bags - we had to walk to the other end of the parking lot - burrh! Needless to say, we chaulked this one up to an extraordinary adventure and finally got home at 2:30am. I got up at 6am that same morning to go to work!

I can't beleive the flight attendants made you guys clean that up yourselves - isn't that in their job description?
