Holiday Blizzard of 2006

Well, Quin and I are snowed in, so I thought I would take this time to do some blogging. I'm sure you've all heard about the horendous weather we're having. Dain told me that Dallas recently experienced some freezing rain that was being called an "Arctic Blast" - so dramatic! The Meterologists here have labeled this snow storm "The Holdiay Blizzard of 2006" but everyone is calling it the "Iverson Blizzard of 2006." Yep, that's right, the Nuggets picked up Alan Iverson - and this blizzard kept him from getting into Denver to play his first game with the Nuggets. Now we have the top 2 scorers in the league - Iverson and Carmelo (although Melo won't be playing again until some time in January). Anyway, everyone had to leave work early yesterday morning when we found out that the storm would continue to hit the mountains and circulate back over on us - we got dumped on! The blizzard officially died down late this morning when the wind slowed down, but it continued to snow heavily until just recently. Last I heard, we got 30" - 36" here in Parker with snow drifts up to 5' high. Here are some pictures of us in the snow outside of our condo. The top right picture is our neighbor looking for somehting in his trunk. We thought it was funny because his enitre car was buried and then he only dug out the trunk - that's all you can see. Our car is the black one next to it - we dug it out earlier to go to the grocery store. We didn't really need to, but it gave us a good excuse to do some 4-wheeling and we needed to check on my car... We had to park my car at the grocery store near our house yesterday because the snow was so bad that we couldn't get it into the driveway to our condo. When we got to the store where my car was parked, we had a hard time finding it because it was buried too! The bottom two pictures are me and Quin in the snow. Quin is on our sidewalk and I'm behind a tall snow drift (were's Waldo?). Well, we'll have to get up early tomorrow to dig our car out again so that Quin can drive me to work.
