Signing "Brush Teeth"

Miller started signing when he was 9 months old. We chose only to teach him signs that he would use often (not butterfly or horse, etc). It's great to have a baby that can communicate so easily.

We introduce new signs as he needs them. These days, he asks to brush his teeth and take a bath every 5 minutes. He seriously wakes up from his naps asking to brush his teeth (how appropriate).

Miller signs all day long. He signs: more, all done, cracker, eat, bath, brush teeth, milk...

He's also talking more and more every day. He says: all done, cheese (deez), water (ala), ball, bye-bye, hi, whoa, Nana, Papa, Mama, Dad...

He barks at dogs. He thinks every bird "bocks" like a chicken. He points at airplanes (he points at everything). He growls and makes car noises. He also likes to snort like a pig and quack like a duck (sounds a lot like the pig). I often find him quacking in the linen closet at his deflated bath duckie.

Miller brushes before and after every meal and before and after every nap and just all the time (not really but he asks that often). Quin had nothing to do with this obsession. Months ago, Miller found Quin's stash of toothbrushes in the bathroom cabinet. He would crawl around with them all day. The moment we gave him his own toothbrush, he knew just what to do. He brushes all ten of his teeth (including his two sprouting molars) and then he "helps" us brush our teeth. Cute!!
